Best place to buy cheap soccer balls

6:12 pm by Paul Jackiewicz Leave a Comment

Finding a good cheap soccer ball is easier than you think

When it comes to purchasing a good soccer ball for your child or yourself, it can be difficult to find a ball that is inexpensive and reliable.

Soccer balls range from $5 to as a much as $145. Yes, that’s a crazy price range.

I will say this, you really don’t need to spend more than $20 on a good ball. I purchased an Under Armour ball for $12 and it’s still in great shape after three seasons.

The question is, where can you get a great ball that will last, for a reasonable price?

TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Sierra

These three stores, which are all owned by the same company are my favorite places to purchase a soccer ball. The Under Armour ball that I mentioned earlier in this articles I got from TJ Maxx.

When shopping at TJ, Marshalls or Sierra you will get a good soccer ball that is typically worth $15-20 and is on sale for only $10-15 depending on the ball.

Dick’s Sporting Goods

I honestly rarely shop at Dick’s because all of their stuff is overpriced. But after receiving a gift card that I could only use at their store I found some good deals on their website for soccer balls.

I ended up purchasing four soccer balls that were listed on sale for $13 each. Three are made by Nike and one is made by Adidas.

At the time of the purchase, Dick’s had an online deal where if you spent over $50 you would get $10 off. With my cart adding up to $55, I ended up spending only $45 for four balls. That comes out to $11.25 per ball. Free shipping was also included, so that was a bonus.

I also have to warn you about places that you shouldn’t buy a soccer ball from.

Walmart

I’ve purchased multiple soccer balls from Walmart and none of them have lasted more than three months. The balls that they sell always rip and tear at the seams. The stitching on their Mitre balls come undone and the Wilson balls that they sell tear.

They might be cheap, but soccer balls at Walmart won’t last you more than six months if you’re lucky.

Target

I thought Target’s cheaper soccer ball would last, unlike Walmart’s and I was wrong. The stitching on their Franklin ball also comes undone, just like Walmart’s Mitre ball.

The lesson that I learned from buying balls at Walmart and Target is to be willing to spend $12-20 for a ball that’s made by a company like Under Armour, Nike, Adidas, Select and any other company that’s proven over the years that they make good quality products.

Comment below and give me your thoughts on where you think the best place is to buy a good soccer ball.
